—Sharkbeard, The Pirate Virus/ Fairy Happy

Sharkbeard is the captain and leader of the Pirates in Gunpowder Island ; though he is one of the main antagonists of the series, he is seen as a more neutral foe most times.

  • TBA

Sharkbeard is seen to be on the greedy and self-centred side of things, doing everything he can to do what he wants and get what he wants no matter the consequence; aswell ill-tempered, stubborn, gullible and clueless at times.

Despite his self claims of being a fearless pirate who's name even " spreads fear into those who dare speak of it " he can be a bit of a coward in certain situations.

Sharkbeard is seen to have quite the disliking towards Ruby due to her being female as females are considered '" Bad luck '" in pirate beliefs; though his resentment stems of her being the cause of Rubens' retirement from pirating, despite the latter having no other choice in-order to raise her from a baby.

Despite this Sharkbeard has been seen neutral towards Ruby at times, going as far as to either complement or seem proud of her piracy, though this is usually short lasting and used for manipulation tactics when gold or treasure is involved.

Very little is known of Sharkbeard's relationship with Rubens though it's possible they were close at some point, as Sharkbeard stated him to be his " best swordsmen "; implying either Rubens was the best swords fighter in his crew or Sharkbeard simply admired his swordsmanship.

  • In certain episodes, there is an animation error where Sharkbeard can be seen wearing his old hat; the same hat which Ruby stole in season 1 episode Ruby, Queen of the Seas - Part 4.
  • Sharkbeard is seen to show huge interest in poetry, as noticed in season 2 episode Poetry Party.
  • Sharkbeard seems to show interest in mythical creatures; most noticeably Unicorns and Mermaids, as statues of them can be seen in his office.
  • In season 2 episode Chasing the Chameleon, one of Sharkbeard's crew members mentions to the Super4 that it's his birthday; Twinkle asks this crew member how old Sharkbeard is, which they simply reply with '' The age of the Captain? ''.

As this episode aired on the 10th of November 2017 ( France ) and the plot being centred on Sharkbeard's birthday, it's possible that he was born the same day/month as the episode's airing; though due to lack of context given on the episodes' timezone it's uncertain when his birthday actually is.

  • In the Sharkbeard's Ship's Log printable game from the official UK Playmobil website, Sharkbeard writes a series of " difficult pirate tests " in which the player(s) must achieve to prove themselves worthy of possessing his treasure; a treasure which stated to be most precious to him.

The game is shown to be dated in the year 1779, though seems to take place in the " present " as the Super4 are mentioned within the story; this could imply that Gunpowder Island is set somewhere within the 17th century, separate from the other respective worlds' timeline in the series.
