Ruby seems to have a close relationship with Rubens although both would get into fights about her dream of becoming a pirate. She sometimes mentions about him and growing up in the tavern, and owned a family heirloom ( a centuries old sardine ) which was passed down to her-the heirloom likely being from Rubens' side of the family, before unfortunately getting eaten by Alex.
Ruby at first seemed to admire Sharkbeard, at least his tales at sea that is. She shares very bitter taste towards him due to his disliking of her being a female pirate.
